Thapar Institute of Engineering & technology (TIET), a Deemed to be University, Patiala, is accepting applications for 2024 admissions in BE / BTech programs, offering 3210 seats.

Admission modes: Admission to BE/BTech programs shall be conducted through two modes:

a) JEE Mains 2024 (or NEET 2024 in case of Biotechnology /Biomedical Engg) and

b) Class 12 score.

Applicants are required to fill application form one time only and on the basis of single application form, they shall be considered for both the modes.

Note

a) BE- Computer Science & Engineering (Derabassi Campus) will run at Derabassi Campus with first two years at Derabassi and remaining 2 years at Patiala campus.

b) Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning  is new programme, subject to the approval of AICTE.

Punjab State Seats: 50% of the seats are reserved for candidates who have passed qualifying examination from School/College/Institute located in the state of Punjab.

The candidates having Punjab Residency certificate but have passed 10+2 examination from any location outside Punjab shall also be considered under Punjab quota. Such candidates will have to submit an affidavit at the time of document checking that they have not availed state quota in any other State/UT. Candidates seeking admission under this category are required to submit a certificate as per format (Annexure-XV) along with the Punjab Residency certificate while submitting the application form.

Admission Mode – 1: Based on JEE Main – 2024 score

The candidate

i. has passed 10+2 or equivalent examination with at least 60% marks (55% for SC/ST candidates) in aggregate of three subjects, namely, Physics, Mathematics and any one subject out of Chemistry, Biology, Biotechnology and Technical Vocational subject.

ii. has appeared in JEE Main – 2024.

iii. possesses a good moral character.

iv. is a citizen of India.

v. has passed 10+2 examination in 2022, 2023 or appearing in 2024.

The admission shall be made on the All India Rank (AIR) of JEE Main – 2024.

Admission Mode – 2: Based on 10+2 marks in PCM

The candidate

i. has passed 10+2 or equivalent examination with at least 70% marks (65% for SC/ST candidates) in aggregate of three subjects, namely, Physics, Mathematics and any one subject out of Chemistry, Biology, Biotechnology and Technical Vocational subject*.

ii. has appeared in JEE Main – 2024.

iii. possesses a good moral character.

iv. is a citizen of India.

v. has passed 10+2 examination in 2022, 2023 or appearing in 2024.

In the final round of counselling, any seat remaining vacant through Mode-2 shall be filled through Mode-1 and vice versa.

Application made by 8 May 2024: Application fee Rs.1,500/-

Application made after 8 May 2024: Application fee Rs.2,000/-

Application last date for FN/NRI candidates: 31 Jul 2024

To be eligible for a particular round of counselling, a candidate must have applied three days prior to that particular counselling round.

Counseling Schedule : Counselling schedule for BE/BTech programme will be announced on the website as and when JEE Mains 2024 / 10+2 results are declared.
